Why You Donate #8

9/13/16

If you've donated this year, we've asked you to share why, so we can anonymously share your comments with the rest of SCLX. Here are a few...

I am pleased to support our club because I still believe in it and the organization it has created. Sorry I don`t attend  as much as I should but I`m still with this club because it is meaningful and helpful to a lot of Mopar/Chrysler enthusiasts. I will always donate and if needed be there to help out.

Thank you to all the club supporters dating back to 2007. It is because of each of them that we've made it to this day. To make a donation please visit the SUPPORT page.

2017 Dodge Colors

9/9/16

Here's a great article by FCA about the new colors for 2017.

What just Blu By You? That’s a Dodge

Black, red, white, blue – sedate names for colors on sedate cars. That’s not the Dodge way. Dodges are rife with attitude and so are the names of its paint colors.

Pitch Black, TorRed, White Knuckle, Contusion Blue – those are names with attitude, along with Go Mango, Destroyer Gray and Blu By You.

Dodge’s history is rich with eye-catching paint colors and attention-getting names. In the hey days of the muscle car era Dodge fans were on the lookout for a Charger or Challenger wearing Top Banana, HEMI Orange or Panther Pink.

For the 2017 model year, Dodge supercharges its color palette with names that recall and build upon its muscle car heritage. Every model in the 2017 lineup gets in on the fun. The Dodge Charger and Challenger showcase two new limited-production colors, Yellow Jacket and Green Go.

Here’s a full list of the 2017 paint color names:

• Redline 2K
• Blu By You
• Stout Brown
• White Knuckle
• Redline 3K
• Maximum Steel Metallic
• Bomber Brown
• Vice White
• Octane Red
• Yellow Jacket
• Granite
• White Noise
• TorRed
• Olive Green
• Billet
• Blood Orange
• Green Go
• Black Onyx
• Go Mango
• Destroyer Gray
• DB Black
• Contusion Blue
• Bruiser Gray

LSMF 2016 Q&A Update #1

8/27/16

We’ve made some changes to LSMF from past events and that has generated a few questions.

Q: Is the event now open to any MOPAR?

A: We’ve been asked every year (since 2011) about opening the event to all MOPAR vehicles and this year we are glad to do so.

Q: The event used to be free to get in, what does it cost now?

A: Correct, in 2011-2014 the event was free if you registered your vehicle. Last year we charged $5 per person and $10 for car show entries. This year it’s a simplified $25 for all vehicles and covers all admission and activities Friday night and Saturday. Event info on this page (or our website) has the detailed info on what is included. Last year proceeds went towards building and shipping care packages to our overseas armed forces. This year proceeds will fund a donation to Help Our Military Endure.

Q: Do I need a ticket to get in the show/race parking area?

A: Yes, a ticket is required for all MOPAR vehicles to enter the show/race area. Please bring your paper ticket or have your e-ticket on your mobile device. There will be NO on-site registration so get your discounted ticket by Sept 10.

Q: How much is it to autocross or drag race? Can I do both?

A: A tech card will be $35 per vehicle and covers both activities.

Q: What are the classes for the Show-N-Shine?

A: There are eleven different classes. Judges will evaluate each vehicle and we’ll give out 67 trophies.

Q: What are the classes for the Whitehead Motorsports Race Program?

A: Our race director and team are working on designing a balanced program. Stay tuned (see what we did there).

Q: How can I see the Hemi Hideout?

A: The XPEL Heritage Lunch is on Friday and at the Hemi Hideout. Tickets are available on our website.

Q: What is the Eastcoastmoparts Prize Bash?

A: Each participating vehicle owner will be given a raffle ticket. Tickets will be drawn throughout Saturday for prizes. Winning tickets are reused and eligible for prizes all day.

Q: What is the Saturday Night Moparty?

A: After your day at the track, and dinner with friends, come back to the host hotel, relax, and hang out with new friends, and play some bingo.

Q: Is there a Dyno Day?

A: Our friends at Moparfan.com are organizing dyno sessions. Jump to the FRIDAY page of our event website for more info.

Q: Can I bring any parts to sell/trade to other owners?

A: Yes, ModFX is handling the swap meet on Friday. Stop by their booth for more info.

Why You Donate #7

8/18/16

If you've donated this year, we've asked you to share why, so we can anonymously share your comments with the rest of SCLX. Here are a few...

I guess the main reason I felt it was important to provide support to the club, is with any organization profit or nonprofit, it takes some type of income/support from its members to maintain and function. Without the support of members the organization will not be able to maintain the level of high standards it has achieved over the years. Some people forget that everything costs, from maintaining the web site, name badges, paper, etc., and without donations many functions or events would not happen. I've seen SCLX grow over the years, so I guess this is the main reason I don't mind supporting the SCLX Family.

What's New for LSMF 2016

8/05/16

Hello SCLX,

It's that time of year. Summer? Well, yes. But also the time we start ramping up for Lone Star Mopar Fest.

Since 2011 we've organized and hosted hundreds of owners for a weekend of appearance and performance. LSMF is one of the few events that combine showing and racing on the same day at the same location.

Just as Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep put out updated versions of the cars we love, it's time for LSMF to do a little updating.

Here is what's new for 2016:

First

When we started LSMF our focus was on the modern 300, Charger, Magnum, Challenger, and Grand Cherokee SRT. We always had our gates open to the classics, but, no other MOPAR® vehicles. We have heard the comments and read the emails so we are opening participation to any MOPAR® vehicle!

Second

Well, it's kind of new.... autocross returns to main event day. We'll have a small course set up at the back of the track. Participation will be limited and sign up will be on Friday or early Saturday.

Third

On Saturday, at the track and back at the host hotel, we'll have our Prize Bash. Each vehicle registration is eligible for one ticket. We'll draw tickets throughout the day for great prizes. After a winning ticket is selected that ticket goes back into the pool for another chance to win.

Fourth

This event does not happen without you, the SCLX family, stepping up to volunteer. For this year we are using SignUpGenius to make it easier for you to Give A Shift. Many of you have already answered the call to help, thank you!

Fifth

In the past we've created informational postcards for you to hand out to those interested. This year we're trying something different. We've created "tag cards" for you to use with any MOPAR that catches your eye. They will be available starting at the August Central Meet & Greet.

We are constantly updating our event website so visit lonestarmoparfest.com for more information.

If you've always wanted to go to those events you see and hear about, but are just unable to break away, LSMF is a great opportunity! Think of it as a "home game". Come out for as much as your family and work schedule allows.

SCLX, together let's make this the best one yet!

Why You Donate #6

7/20/16

If you've donated this year, we've asked you to share why, so we can anonymously share your comments with the rest of SCLX. Here are a few...

The main other reason for supporting the club is that we have found it a nice forum to meet other people who share the same interest as we do. It is very nice to have a venue where we can bring our grandchildren to events and feel safe having them wander around. It is also great to be able to share this with our children and grandchildren in a relaxed atmosphere. I have found most of the club more than willing to discuss many topics (not just car related) as well as to offer advice on many topics.

So Refreshing!

7/14/16

Last week Daniel, one of our event hosts, organized and led a drive-by to very special lemonade stand. This young man is donating 50% of proceeds to the Lone Survivor Foundation. Watch the Bentley's story here.  Oh, by the way, the family owns a 2015 Scat Pack. We're not surprised!

Homecoming GoRonGo

07/09/16

A couple weeks ago Ron, HTownSRT, was released from an extended hospital stay and rehab. Members of the SCLX family were in constant contact with Ron and Gina through text, our staff communications app, and face-to-face. When the time came for Ron to go home, there was only one thing to do, give him a MOPAR escort.

Afterwards, Ron shared this with us via the staff communication app... "Thank you all for that awesome welcome home. I will never forget that. That is what makes this club special."

Another example of how this carmunity goes beyond the cars!

Why You Donate #5

6/14/16

If you've donated this year, we've asked you to share why, so we can anonymously share your comments with the rest of SCLX. Here are a few...

This will be my 4th full year as a member of SCLX. In my opinion there is not a more diverse, giving and genuine family of car owners anywhere. The reason I support SCLX is to make sure the resources are on hand to make a difference. Whether it's casual get togethers, annual LSMF activities or charity work, funding is necessary to do it right.  That is why I am proud to be a Supporter of SCLX!

I like what the club is doing. The food runs, accelerator runs, Mopar Fest, the management team and support staff, it's all great. Thank you for putting forth the effort to bring us all together. I know some of what you do costs money and there is no club dues so it has to come from us at some point. I don't mind donating to something I have fun doing.
